Yamaha YZR-M1 2009 (23)

Being busy from work and I had little time left during weekdays, I have finally come up with a couple of hours working on painting. A few shades of silvers have been painted over the engine.

And the exhaust has been painted withn Gunze SM07, as preparision of weathering.

I ahve again, lost a part from the transkit. So I have to recreate one myself with reference from the 08 M1 transkit.

Yamaha YZR-M1 2009 (22)

After a couple of days of spraying work, the clear coatings have been laid on all the cowlings.
And the chassis is also ready and will be set until the mechanical parts are painted.

Yamaha YZR-M1 2009 (21)

When I was preparing the clear coating today, I have found that I will have to apply CF decals on this part before hand.... so I will have to put all those decals around first.... another day delay for the clear coat then....>.<

Yamaha YZR-M1 2009 (20)

Pulling it very slowly, I have started the painting work for the chassis by now.
The pimer work has to be done seriously as some of the parts are resin transkit. I really do not want to risk tripping off the paint in the middle of the progress.
Other parts are also primed with gloss black just to prepare for the silver color"S"
that is going to cover them up.

Yamaha YZR-M1 2009 (19)

After sealing the decals on the cowlings, I have started to have some carbon fiber decals around them before I actually apply any clear coat on them. Hopefully, there are not many area will need to be CFed, so the coating work can still be done in the coming weekend.

Yamaha YZR-M1 2009 (18)

Replacement decals have arrived today, so I got straight to the remaining of the decal work.
So repainting will be required after checking....
