Yamaha YZR-M1 2009 (36)

On the event happened last weekend, I have put this M1 to the show in the local annual contest. And this M1 managed to get the 2nd runner from the Civilian Vehicle section. I am so glad I can maange to do this on time and I have actually watched a lot of amazing works from my local fellows.

Getting some opinions from friends after they have read the result in details, I have started to fine tune different parts of the ride after the contest.

First of all, the wirings are all repainted with acrylic paints, emphasizing the highlights and shadows.

The metal parts are dry-brushed with Alcad II #105 to strengthen the metalic look.

Dark wash was applied on the chain. This give a lot more realistic look rather than a brand new etching feeling.

Another dark wash was applied on the egnine and radiator.

The same effects were also done on the tail as well.

Hopefully, I will be able to complete the bike by Friday and be ready for the contest this weekend.

Yamaha YZR-M1 2009 (31)

Here is another highly recommanded item from T2M.
The cable tenstioners is of greate details and are applicable on most MotoGP bikes. It would be difficult to scratch build the hex rods into such shape. With this help of metal gradeup, the level of details can be enhenced greatly.

The tensioner is composed of a few parts for such little details. So I would say it is a artcraft to have such item being available on the market.

Composed view.

A quick airbrushing of black black and a light drybrushing of silvery will result in a highly detailed tensioner which would enhence the level of detail of the handle bar greatly!

After completing the cable tensioners, I have kept up the work on the wiring around the chassis.

I guess I will need another night or two to get this done.....

Having the rear cowling polished, I have started to put on those electronic controls and the wirings on it. There are many more to go with the rest of the chassis though.

Yamaha YZR-M1 2009 (26)

Another day for CF decal work... It has been so frustrating as the shapes are so irregular and I still have 2 pieces to go before I can let go of these tedious decalling.... not to even thinking about the coming wiring works to be done....

Yamaha YZR-M1 2009 (24)

Having a full day watching races is cerainly the perfect weekend program. Watching the MotoGP season finale at Valancia and the Brazilian GP took me 7 full hours though. In the mean time, to avoid falling asleep during the races, I have worked on the M1 chassis.

The main frame was detailed with some T2m pins and the inner wall was painted silver. Decals were put on previously and primed with Testor flat coat.

The exhaust was painted into silver and weathering still in progress.

Suspension was setup as well as the front folks were also painted and test-fitted. It leaves the carbon fibre works around the details and the wiring works to be done.
