After completing the cockpit, the rides are almost done now.

Going through the week, I have prepared the rims for both rides. And I have tried to convert the male rims into female rims with a set of donors. Anyone can recognize whose rims are these?? =D

Also, I have step by step managed to paint the cockpit into 2 different 2-shades patterns.

Got some spare time to get the chassis masked and painted. I really found myself tired of doing the same step repeatedly, especially masking anything! =P

I have spent a couple of nights polishing one of the Hondas. These are all tough work as the clear coat is obviously very hard and strong! I have finally compromised with the effort anyway.

Happy CNY! Gong Xi Fa Cai!
This is the Year of the Rabbit. And I have a 4 consecutive holiday. This allows me to have spare time to go through some heavy duty tasks for some of my kit undergoing.

One of my friends have helped me out in getting some 2K clear paint earlier and it is time to give it a try. Alike the Finisher GP2, this clear paint comes with 1 portion of master paint, 1 portion of hardener and 1 portion of thinner. As a precaution, I worked on a well-ventilated environment with 3M mask on my face.

The coating is very well laid and it tooks me a bout 2 hours to complete the bodies of 4 different kits.

All the 3 rides have been painted now so the coming works will be on their chassis and cockpit respectively.

Having these bodies sanded and cleaned, they are ready for paints. Home is empty tonight so it has been a very good moment for spraying work.

I have managed to has a good mix of paints for the Nissan March. First I laid a layer of Finisher Foundation Pink on it. And then I have the auto paint sprayed on it. It was a very transparent golden orange, which I could hardly spray evenly over the surface. Also, the color itself didn't quite match the color of Dora's ride. So afterall, I have mixed a custom orange base and added some of this golden orange for its pearl portion. The mix looks good at my first sight, so I sprayed it over on top and got it done.

For the Jazz, I started on Jay's ride as it is also laid with Finisher Foundation Pink. All of a sudden, I realised I didn't even cut open the roof for the roof window yet! I was so surprize and had to take out the tools for the mod. At a quick surgery, the roof has been opened and primer was ready. I laid the Foundation Pink again, followed by a layer of Finisher Bright red.

for Ronald's ride, I will have to look out for a good choice of paint as well or I will have to custom mix it again. Anyway, I hope to have the bodies painted in these couple of weeks so I can have the clear coat over the Xmas holidays.
