German Pz.Kpfw. Ausf. E VI Tiger I Late Prod.

Today, I just started a new project, which is the Tiger I late from Dragon. This has been a kit released long ago but I really do not have the intention to work on it at all.

The Dragon Tiger I has been a great kit in the AFV market, I have also acquired a few of those. But sooner they are too much for my work bench so I have traded a couple of those through online bidding.

The details are exceptional. Parts are to be assembled even on sone major elements like hull walls and doors. I have some parts preassembled and progress will go on for a few weeks.

German Panzerkampfwagen E-100 (6)

The rubber track fromthe kit has been assembled onto the wheels. And I have added some weathering on the lower hull with MIG pigment. In the mean time, I have also applied a little Old Rust and Light Rust pigment to enrich the weathering around the paint chippings.

German Panzerkampfwagen E-100 (5)

After some trial-and-errors, I have got the turret and lower hull painted and weathered. You may notice I have repainted the turret into a different color tone. And I have the water marks, and rustings recreated with oil colors and art carbon pencil. I have also applied different shades of filters with oil paints as well.

Valentino Rossi - Team Fiat Yamaha 2009 (13)

After completing the VF-1S, my bench now has much more space so I can start putting AB putty on the swing arms for the M1. And this time, I have worked on both the 2004 and 2009 M1.

Okay, this is it. The landing gears were attached and I have given a little black wash on the flight with specific directions. This is really fun to have a SF airplane kit building. I think I will be doing it again later on.

German Panzerkampfwagen E-100 (4)

Today, I have got the turret painted in DAK color. In particular, I have tried to apply the Color Modulation idea by Adam Wilder on the turret. Afterall, I have put a Axis marking on the center of the turret. I have also redone the lower hull color as well as I found it too transparent and showing the metal color too obviously. The chippings were also redone as well.

German Panzerkampfwagen E-100 (3)

After some more research, I have found that the hangers were mis-positioned. I have added back some of the parts from the original kit and put on more hangers at a more appropriate place. And just for a little touch, I have added a couple of drink can pieces around the tools as well. After all the details have settled, I have started straight on the painting work. I have tried the hair-spray paint chipping this time just to see how it work with Gunze paints. I have laid a Gunze #8 silver over all the parts. On the lower hull and barrel, I will be painting the anti-rust primer layer. I have mixed the paint with simple Gunze black and red paints. A slight layer of clear red and clear yellow were also sprayed randomly around the lower hull.

German Panzerkampfwagen E-100 (2)

For this tiny little kit, I have a little mods on the details around it. The first thing I have done is to chopped the fenders apart as I really don't like the shape of this fatty and huge fenders. I have added the details within the fenders with thin plastic sheets while the thickness of the fender are thinned down. Then I have recreated the hangers on the wall of the turret with alumiumn can.

And putting all these together in addition to some residue parts from my previous King Tiger, the tank is almost ready for paint. I will start working on the edges of the plasitcs as some final touches.

German Panzerkampfwagen E-100

It has been really a long time since my last AFV advanture. At the moment, I will be joining a group of local builders on the topic of anit-rust primer tanks. As it has really been so long I have started any tanks, I think it will be good if I were to started with some simpler ones, let's say a 1:72 Dragon German Panzer E-100! This prototype tank allows a better range in terms of historical references, which I hardly have time to go thougth. So it will be a imaginary livery and a very straight from box build.

So, decals were all done and were actually sealed "between" layers of metal primer. Afterwards I had a layer of Gunze GX100 clear coat to flatten the gloss over the entire flight. The chrome decals desolved a little bit but are still bright. I will have to get rid of the landing gears to complete the kit.

Macross VF-1S 25th Anniversary (2)

After struggling for some decent hours, the flight is painted with the same 2009 M1 blue from Ricebox. And I started to applied those tiny and delicated chrome decals. Works have been hard on the decals as they are chrome decal that are much more delicated than other Cartograf decals.
