Got some touch-up around th edges of the flesh. And the helmet is also painted.
I will have to work on the floor to complete the base.

Subaru Impreza WRX STI double project (3)

Right, this is one of the major scratch-building work need to be done to the KB livery.
I got a spare Tamiya Peugeot 206 WRC (forget about the year, I think any of versions got the same spoiler anyway) and took its spoiler as donor. Then I stacked a few plastic sheets around and formed the basic structure.

Ma.K. Female pilot (4)

Well, I've given up.... I've given in..... I turned to the oil paints to get that blending right....
This scale is way too much for me to blend over the flat surface with Andrea Acrylics..... :(

Ma.K. Female pilot (3)

After some eye-hurting work, this girl is basically colored with base colors.

Ma.K. Female pilot (2)

I was having a whole spare day to work on this figure.
Apart from tuning the color of the face, I also managed to get a overall color laid except for the right leg. I planned to ad more color dimensions at different areas of the suit and the flesh as well. Hopefully will be getting some new insights after such a trial.

Ma.K. Female pilot

Recently some of my friends are working on their figure works. That really hit up little flames for me on mine as well. So here I have started a Ma.K. 1:20 figure. I was hoping to have this figure painted into a rac girl of this scale and hopefully I will be able to put her alongside with some F1 works.

Fiat 500 Custom (3)

Just a very quick livery application, with a few little decals up. I quickly applied a quick clear coat over for protection since I will need to hang in there before I work out heavy clear coat work with all my other rides.

Subaru Impreza WRX STI double project (2)

Working on the body with the stock Sti, I am putting this into Finisher Sea Side Blue. The color is so great in bare form. Probably it will be serviced with clear coat tomorrow and we should be able to how it will looks under coating.

Meanwhile, the mod Sti will be under major reconstruction. First of all the front intake will be reshaped, with the fog-lights removed.

At the same time, I have found a bit of time modifying the little rear wing from the original. I cut about 1/3 of its depth and filled a little piece of plastic at the corner to complete its shape.

Fiat 500 Custom (2)

Resuming the work with this kit, I am painting the body straight the way with Gunze GX-white.

Fiat 500 Custom

This kit actually was started back in August 2011. But I have always been working on some other kits and that's why it has been abandoned all the time.... I came to a point where my desk is clear from the Nissan March and Honda Jazz(s). So it is a good moment to pick this up again and give it a good go.

As of 11-Aug-2011:
The body has already been worked and thinned where necessary.
I have also prepared some customize decals for this build as well. Hopefully this will give a special livery as to other Fiat 500 build around the world.

As of today (01-June-2012):
I have primer coated and this is now ready for paint anytime!

Subaru Impreza WRX STI double project

I am always a great fan for the Subaru Impreza. Even though the type GG has been one of my favorites other than GDB, I have decided to start this project for a double build first, just to get rid of the bigger boxes in the room~~ ^_^"

Like most of the other projects, I have pre-assemble most of the body parts as a start. The Aoshima kits usually are not the most comfortable kit to work with. And I believe this STI is of no exception. The plastic are harder than those with Tamiya or Fujimi kits and the injection pins are always very visible. And the panel lines are not molded very well at all. I have to smoothen along most of the panel lines as my very first step.

As a very quick follow up work, primer was applied and I have double checked the panel lines again and prepared some of areas where will potentially affect the polishing at the end. These kind of observation and preparation are essential to a smooth project execution.
