LAH Grenadier, the Ardennes (6)

Just started to work on the camo on the uniform coat. Although I am not very familiar with painting camo, I really think this figure has already been quite easy to work on, as the up and down are so obvious and visible. Different shades of camo colors were painted and I will start working on the arms later on.

LAH Grenadier, the Ardennes (5)

Just notice the color tone of the uniform was quite wrong. And I have redone it al over again, with a darker and greyer color.

LAH Grenadier, the Ardennes (4)

A little refinement on the trousers. The highlight areas look a bit more natural now.
And I also started to put on the base field color on the uniform coat as well. Just roughly adding shadows and highlights before the camo are painted and will then be further blended altogether.

LAH Grenadier, the Ardennes (3)

This time, I moved on to the body of the figure. The combat trousers are painted based on a mixed field grey, which also consisted of blue and dark leather. Different shades of shadows and highlights were painted. After works were done, I realized that this color tone has always been used for all of my oter figures. I swear I will be using different tone the very next time when I am working on the German uniform!

Ford Focus - Monza Rally 2007 (3)

There are several injection marks on the cockpit floor. I have simply covered up the entire floor with 0.1mm plastic sheets, just to save efforts doing putty work on it. The tools on the floor were also removed and recreated so they can be re-assembled on top.

The buckle seats from the kits are real mess and I have replaced both with after market parts.

Here is the tool underlyin the driver seat and recreated to be re-assembled seperately.

After cleaning up for the Verlinden German tank crew, I am moving on with the Alpine one. The head is almost completed as the covered helmet was painted in camo.

German Pz.Kpfw. Tiger II Porsche Turret (6)

Just got a very quick update for the King Tiger. The oil paints are now dry and I can put on other layers of stuffs on it. Some of the zimmerit areas are actually pilled off and I have put up some MIG pigments to rust it a little. Some paint chippings are also performed as well.

German Tank Crew (5)

At a very quick run, this tank crew member is completed. I am still thinking if this is going to be put with the coming King Tiger, or I am just going to put it on another little wood base.

The pants were painted in rough. Just wondering what color the gloves was and will move on.

LAH Grenadier, the Ardennes

If I have dated the pictures correctly, I have actually opened this figure from 23rd, March earlier this year. I have primed all the parts and put them right in front of my desk. But just that I didn't even have time and concentration to do that. And as I worked through the other German figure at the moment, I have started painting the head of it and hopefully I can also get it completed in this hot summer.

German Tank Crew (2)

I have given the face some refinement and had the cap painted as well. I do think it is lookin beter than expected as usually when I picked up the brush again after awhile, the result is not very good. Luckily this head is easy to paint and I could just follow the shape as guidiance.

German Tank Crew

A couple of weeks before, I have found this fiure dropping off from the shelf when I was looking for some AFV references. I just didn't put it back in place at that moment, and today just spared some time to get this figure started. Hopefully it will be get painted within a couple of weeks.

Nissan GTR R35 (5)

Almost all the parts are already in place. Now what I need to do is to get a clean clear coat over the hood and it will take awhile to dry before I can start polishing. So it will still be a few weeks before finish.

Ford Focus - Monza Rally 2007 (2)

Some fix on the front bumper, having the pins all removed and have holes drilled and prepared for the insertion of metal parts later on.

Nissan GTR R35 (4)

Having the kit drying and dying for some months, I have picked up the progress again and have the chassis and cockpit painted.

Unfortunately, I've got the hood washed because the clear coat is not doing well enough and the CF decal underneath looks bad as a result. And even worse, the hood was broken into pieces when I washed it heavily while getting rid of the 2K paint. So I have had a hard time fixing the hood back in shape and hopefully I will have another trial later on.

German Pz.Kpfw. Tiger II Porsche Turret (5)

More treatment on the white camo. This time, I was using while oil paint to enhence the effect from a top-down motion. Dark mud pigment from MIG was also used under the hull so I will be able to prepare the wheels being attached. More progress will be on the wheels and chains before I put this kit back to the shelf.

German Pz.Kpfw. Tiger II Porsche Turret (4)

This is the first time I am applying winter camo on a AFV kit. What I am trying is the hair-spray approach which has been widely used among foriegn builders. The picture below is after the first trial in which I tried to work on a first layer of white camo. I will be doin another layer to see how the layering works out.

After the second application of white camo, the lower hull is now having a better look. At the same time, the first layer of white camo has also been applied on the turret and barrel.

German Pz.Kpfw. Tiger II Porsche Turret (3)

The #314 King Tiger had a 3-tone camo underneath, so what I am trying to do is to prepare the camo in the first place. So when I apply the winter camo later on, this 3-tone camo can still be visible as the base.
